And once more, we have another new Tecno Baby added to the Spark Series. Introducing you to the latest Tecno Spark PRO with outstanding specs. Recall, we already have the Tecno SPARK K7 and SPARK K9!

One thing concerning this Spark Series is its different and appealing design with resemblance to Apple iPhone series. It is quite obnoxious of someone to say that Tecno Spark series design isn’t making sense.

Releasing an upgrade to a smartphone is not a new thing, however, it is imperative that the proper specs are added to make it a more enticing device. Which brings us to the Tecno Spark Pro K8 an upgrade to the Tecno Spark.

Unlike its predecessor, the smartphone has filled some blanks in the spec sheet of the former smartphone. This includes 4G LTE connectivity, better hardware and camera. Is this the ideal upgrade you were looking for? Let’s find out.

Tecno Spark Pro K8 is the advanced version of the Spark K7 that was previously launched by Tecno Mobile. This successor comes with a 4G LTE network which is a top selling point of the phone.

The Chinese maker also equipped this phone with the regular specs you’ll find on most mid-range smartphones.

Other phones to consider could be the Tecno Spark Plus with bigger screen size, Tecno Camon CX with better display resolution or the new Tecno Camon CM. Also in the consideration list are Infinix Hot 5 and Itel P51 Maxpower.

How much does Tecno Spark Pro cost?

You can get the Tecno Spark Pro in the US for $100 while the price on Canada starts at $127 depending on online retailer you choose from below.

In Australia, the price starts at $130 but the price of Tecno Spark Pro in UK is £74 while the EU countries can buy Tecno Spark Pro for €84.

In Africa, you can buy the Tecno Spark Pro in Nigeria for ₦36,000 and Kenya for KSh 10,325 while in Asia, specifically India, the price of Tecno Spark Pro is RS 6,406.

Following in the footsteps of most budget smartphones before it, the Tecno Spark Pro K8 comes in a plastic build which is totally expected. However, the smartphone features a 18:9 aspect ratio but comes in almost end to end display. Despite being plastic, the build quality is good with a nice rounded edges.

The Tecno Spark Pro K8 comes with offscreen buttons below the screen with the camera and flash located at the top left corner on the rear side. The fingerprint sensor is placed toward the middle where it can easily be reached.

On the back, the phone is made of plastic which has become the trademark of budget phones. The panel houses a camera accompanied by an LED flash and a fingerprint scanner for security. You’ll find the Tecno branded logo below the scanner while the dual antenna lines are on the top and bottom of the phone.


The Tecno Spark Pro IPS capacitive touchscreen, with screen body ratio at 71.55% and display size at 5.5 inches with screen resolution at 1280 x 720 pixels and screen density PPI at 267 pixel per inch. 

Talking about the display, Spark Pro K8 features an average screen size. There are bezels both on the top and bottom with the top housing the selfie camera alongside LED flash while the bottom is where the three navigation buttons are located.


Under the hood, the Tecno Spark Pro K8 is powered by an entry level MediaTek SoC clocking at 1.25GHz. Present as the engine driving the smartphone is a Mali-T720 MP2 and a MediaTek MT6737 processor.

In addition, you also have a 1GB and 2GB model both having a 16GB internal storage space with a support for expansion with a memory card up to 128GB. The Tecno Spark Pro K8 boots the Android 7.0 Nougat straight from the box.


Tecno Spark Pro sports a 13 megapixel rear camera with single LED flash, at the front is an 8 megapixel camera for quality selfies.

The front camera is also endowed with a LED flash to deliver more optimized images in low-light conditions.

Tecno Spark Pro packs a non-removable  Li-Po 3000mAh to power all the above features and more, like the connectivity options which includes Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, GPS and sensors which include Accelerometer, Proximity, Light and Fingerprint sensor.
