Tecno is entering into the low budget scene this year, with the new Tecno F2, a slight upgrade of the Tecno F1. Like its lesser variant, the smartphone has low range specs definitely not ideal if you are looking for a smartphone with plenty features.
However, there are still considerable similarities between the two smartphones like having the same processor, storage space, camera set up and so on.
The device is a better alternative to the Tecno F1 and even though they will be targeting the entry-level to lower mid-range market, carries even better specs when compared to its little brother.
For a phone that promises to bring some cool features for the money, give the budget market Android 7.0 Nougat (Android Go Edition) and pair that with a bigger RAM space, here’s everything you need to know about the Tecno
Tecno launched the F2 and then, in a twist of good marketing, gave us the best alternatives to it too. If you are not looking for all that on a device and would rather go for a smaller spec sheet, the Tecno F1 has you covered.
If you want just a little bit more, you should be looking at the Tecno F3 instead. Tecno S1 is also good low end device from TECNO.

This is not the Android GO variant, so the Android experience you’d be getting on powering the Tecno F2 phone for the first time would be through Tecno’s custom user interface — HiOS — which, if you don’t fancy, can be reskinned using any of your favorite launchers present on the Google Play Store.
The device, like you’d expect for its low-budget price tag, has a plastic build which can be picked up in a variety of colors — you get to select from either of Gold, Black or any of the two shades of blue available.
I think it’s obvious there’s no difference between the Tecno F1 and F2 in terms of design and display. This is more of an F1 Pro or F1 Plus kinda phone.
Still sports three navigation buttons at the bottom bezel, while the top houses the usual features. Dishing out standard display is still the same 5-inch FWVGA IPS capacitive touchscreen with 854 x 480 pixels in resolution.
The TECNO F series is “built for speed”, the F2 is powered by a MediaTek chip with 4-cores processor and 32-bit CPU architecture. The Quad-core processor on the device runs at a speed of 1.3GHz with 28nm process technology offering speedy performance.
Since this is an entry-level device, you get just 1GB RAM space with 8GB internal storage which you can upgrade up to 32GB through a MicroSD card.
In terms of photography, the 5MP rear shooter has a dual-LED flash and other quality features. The dual-LED will bring out all your photos taken in a low light environment. The 2MP selfie camera will take cute selfies than other 2MP shooters. It has a soft LED flash for selfies and video calls in dark places.
Battery Capacity and Sensors
Tecno F2 packs a removable Li-Po 2000mAh to power all the above features and more, like the connectivity options which includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and sensors like accelerometer.
